LIVING IN A PANDEMIC SOCIETY IS NOT CONDUCIVE TO THE HUMAN CONDITION OF THRIVING, THEREFORE THERE IS A NEED FOR AN ARCHITECTURAL INTERVENTION TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT TO PROMOTE THE CONDITIONS TO THRIVE.

Today, we live in a society scrambling to adapt to living in a pandemic society. The world has found itself in a new regime of socio-political design during this time and creative ways of solving problematic issues have just begun. This emphasizes a need for more design activism within the national, regional and local scales focusing on individual existence and mental health during a pandemic. Let’s look at the problem as such: how do we improve the condition on human thriving on a psychological level? What makes us human through architecture? And how do we bring people together in a time where we must be physically distanced? Instead of settling in a survival mode (a category of human condition), there is a need for architectural elements that help assist in individual thriving while bringing back social aspects that pandemia has robbed us of.
